Hey folks-
The biggest news of mine this week is a two-fer: seeing Iron Man on Tuesday night, writing up a review, and passing word of that review forward to Marvel Comics--whose folks there have been extraordinarily kind about my humble wordage. It's thrilling to think that Marvel is not only aware of what I did for SFRevu but enjoys it as well.
Aside from that, Kat's been busy with work and we're looking forward to her parents coming to pre-celebrate her birthday.
Take care... and go see Iron Man! It is, in the immortal words of Martin Bosworth, "made of awesome."

Superbowl
Wow.
Just... wow.
That last 2:40 minutes had it all. Drama, intensity, the fate of the game hanging on a single throw--I think I didn't take a breath for about a full minute. Might explain why I was a little woozy afterward.
I'm glad the Giants won. Not that I have anything against the Patriots, but the Giants came through a very rough year and the Patriots seemed to be the anointed ones--and who doesn't want to see a game that is 1) exciting and 2) ends in a massive upset? If the Pats had cruised to victory, it would have been another ho-hum game, more remarkable for the commercials than the action on the field.
As for the commercials...
- I liked the Iron Man trailer a LOT. I'm more excited to see this by the day.
- Didn't get to see all of the Leatherheads trailer but what I saw looked fun.
- The Bud Light commercial with the Clydesdale in training was charming.
- Ditto the Coke commercial with a surprise cameo at the very end (wasn't that balloon retired 30 years ago?)
- ...and that's about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Comic-Con!
Hey gang!
Kat and I went to Comic-Con and yes, we have pictures. I'll upload them this weekend, I promise! But here are some highlights:
- had a hotel room that was absolutely beautiful, courtesy of a good friend;
- caught up with a bunch of old WildStorm colleagues over the weekend, which was absolutely great;
- American Dad panel was awesome!
- ditto the Cartoon Voices panel--Maurice LeMarche and Jess Harnell are still my heroes;
- if there is any justice, Pushing Daisies will be the big hit of the '07-'08 TV season-- and Kristin Chenoweth is one funny lady (look for YouTube footage of their panel!);
- Kat and I hung out Sunday afternoon with Mike Carey, comic book writer extraordinaire and hardest working man in comics;
- got pictures of the Mach 5, Batmobile and Tony Stark's car;
- saw Rosario Dawson out in San Diego and said hi and good luck with her comic book (she said "thanks!");
- got a glimpse of the crated-up Iron Man armor Mk 1 at the Marvel booth;
- got a look at some upcoming Justice League Unlimited toys from Mattel;
- generally suffered the battering and abuse that comes with struggling through about 100k others, all generally interested in the same things I am;
- and so on.
There's a LOT I'm forgetting but will occur to me later, so keep an eye on this space!
